BETTER FOR ONE MAN TO DIE

BETTER FOR ONE MAN TO DIE
The Chief Priest, Caiaphas said it was better for one man to die for the nation instead of the nation dying for one man. He was right but the question is, who will die? Who will pay the price? Jesus accepted to be sacrificed. This incident proved Jesus to be the real Chief Priest and the true Shepherd who laid down his life for his flock. By His death, Jesus gave a heroic example of service based leadership. The world is full of irresponsible and selfish leaders, from the lowest to the highest level of the society. We see nations dying for few men, institutions dying for the sake of one or two persons. This is one of the differences between Jesus and Satan; Jesus dies that we may live, Satan lives that we may die and perish. We might forget the miracles of Jesus, we might even doubt His presence at times, but we will never forget that He is the only One Who died and continues to die that we might live. In the film ‘Quo Vadis’ Jesus told St Peter, who was running away from martyrdom, ‘if you are not ready to die for my flock, I’m going to die for them again’. Every Christian is a leader who must be prepared to make sacrifice for others to live. Dying for others starts from living for others, and we are called to live for others. As the season of Lent draws to a close, let us imbibe the great lessons we have learnt, let us make the world a better place, let us make the world an ALLELUIA! Let us try our best and may Christ our Lord and leader in this tough journey give us the grace and courage to excel in Jesus name Amen
